“Memphis, Michigan — A high school senior says he earned an A+, not an A, and has sued to get the grade changed to bolster his chance at becoming valedictorian.”
A little later in the story, you learn the class in question was a work-study gig in his mom’s office. In other words, Mom said I deserve an A+, so I deserve an A+!

How fucking idiotic.
Who cares if he’s valedictorian? I hope any college worth going to nowadays realises high school grades are a joke. In fact, college undergrad grades are becoming a joke at most schools. I had some kid send me a resume saying he had a “5.0” GPA. That just showed me:
1) his undergrad school was a joke
2) he concentrated on the things that didn’t really matter
I’m kind of happy I went to a school with evaluations instead of grades. Sure, they take a little longer to read than some number, but at least they actually mean something.
