At first, I panicked. I saw the 6,000 and read WMD – then I realised it was in GAUSS and not TESLA. Pheww!
6,000 guass isn’t a lot!!! To put it into perpective, 6000 Gauss is the kind of field strength you could get by sticking around 100 fridge magnets to the chassis of your hard drive. It’s probably enough to wipe it but why on earth would you get yourself into that situation in the first place?
