first day in s.f.

Greetings from San Francisco. It’s a little drizzly, and I haven’t had a chance to venture beyond tourist-choked Fisherman’s Wharf yet today, but it’s good to be here. Had a lovely dinner last night with Jessa, Kristin, Kevin, Jane, MJ, and the sadly blogless Suzan, who collectively make up my West Coast Krew (415 Chapter). Today I got to enjoy the wonders of Caltrain, sample my first In-N-Out burger, try a place called Bob’s Sushi (a tactical error, I regret to report), and generally wandered around. Oh, and spent too much time in a Starbucks, soaking up wifi to finish a story for work. The edumacation excitement starts tomorrow.

  1. great sadness that i am not available to show you the delights of O-town. i hope you make it across the bridge, friend josh, as you will find a different experience there. ah, well. it is in the spirit of your zambian stories that i am back in africa, though too tired at the end of the day to do much more than plug in my camera for a recharge and sprawl out flat on my back on a bed. but i did reinvigorate my blog in honor of you–again just a pale nod in your direction.
here’s to educating the californians, god help them.

  2. Sorry to hear about the regrettable sushi, but glad you survived your Caltrain experience. And that the story got written. It was great to see you… give us a call if you’re at a loose end on Friday and want to join us for jazz and stuff.

  3. Ooh, your first In-n-Out burger. I wish I could have that experience again — discovering that chain was one of the things that endeared California to this East Coast transplant.
